We are supporting a rapidly growing low-carbon energy company in their search for a Development Manager to help drive the delivery of a diverse pipeline of distributed energy and heat network projects across the UK. This role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years of experience in energy or infrastructure project development, with a strong background in planning and stakeholder engagement.
You’ll play a key role in shaping and progressing projects from concept through to pre-construction, supporting the company’s mission to decarbonise local energy systems.
Lead the planning and development of low-carbon energy projects, including decentralised heat networks, biomass, and flexible generation assets.
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies, considering grid access, planning constraints, and commercial viability.
Liaise with local authorities, landowners, consultants, and community stakeholders to ensure timely progression of projects.
Collaborate with internal teams (commercial, technical, legal) to align development activities with overall project strategy.
Support land acquisition and legal negotiations where required.
3–5 years of experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure development.
~ Strong understanding of UK planning policy and processes, ideally within the context of energy or infrastructure projects.
~ Proven ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
~ Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Background in town planning, environmental planning, or a related discipline.
