Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated Nursing Associate to join our friendly, supportive and exciting family team on Ward F12.
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a safe, effective, efficient care environment for patients, relatives and carers. They will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care under indirect supervision from senior staff.
Main duties
* Plan the delivery of patient care and take responsibility for implementing and evaluating that care, using an appropriate nursing model.
* Provide advice and education to patients, staff and learners within the directorate as required. Develop communication networks across specialties and throughout the multidisciplinary team.
* Prioritise own workload and those working with them, such as learners and Healthcare Assistants.
* Carry out nursing care to a high standard according to Trust Policies and Practice and Clinical Guidelines, including infection control, hygiene and individualised patient needs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Foundation Degree
* GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent
Professional Registration
* Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Understanding of the scope of the Nursing Associate role within the nursing and multidisciplinary team and how it contributes to service development
* Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained in The Code
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help
* Understand requirements for NMC professional revalidation
* Understanding of following procedures and treatment plans
Desirable
* Substantial experience in acute medicine
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to participate in reflective practice and clinical supervision
* Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
* Ability to manage non-routine and unpredictable workload and patient contact
* Effective communication with patients, relatives, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
