Scalian UK is seeking an experienced sustainability professional to work full-time with our client at their facility in Filton, Bristol. The team is part of the client's corporate Sustainability & Environment (S&E) function, collaborating across various divisions and manufacturing plants. They serve as internal "critical friends," guiding, checking, and enabling UK functions and divisions to develop and implement their S&E operational responsibilities and initiatives.
What You Will Be Doing
* Supporting site-based teams in managing daily S&E responsibilities and developing the client's UK Environmental Management System (EMS).
* Identifying opportunities and risks related to S&E performance and supporting teams to develop initiatives to address them.
* Providing guidance on S&E issues relevant to client's procedures and ISO 14001:2015 certification across sites and divisions.
* Guiding operational S&E compliance and risk & opportunity management at site and UK national levels.
* Supporting the development and implementation of a UK-wide S&E strategy aligned with the client's global vision.
* Coordinating S&E matters for internal and external stakeholders.
* Developing UK-wide engagement programs integrating S&E into product development lifecycle.
* Maintaining and expanding cross-functional and cross-divisional networks.
* Harmonizing systems and S&E risk controls in the UK in partnership with corporate strategy.
About You
* Degree in sustainability, environmental management, or related discipline.
* Proven experience in a corporate setting, preferably within manufacturing or industrial sectors, focused on sustainability/environment.
* Deep knowledge of sustainability principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
* Experience in identifying S&E opportunities and implementing compliant initiatives.
* Experience with risk and opportunity/materiality assessment systems.
* Knowledge of S&E audits and ISO management systems.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with diplomatic and engaging communication skills.
* Proven stakeholder collaboration skills across functions.
* Ability to influence staff and management at all levels.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French, Spanish, or German is advantageous.
* Understanding of the company's sustainability strategy and commitments.
* Familiarity with Google Suite software.
