Job Description
The Role
* Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Assisting teachers and learning support staff with learning activities
* Promoting positive behaviour, social skills, and engagement in learning
* Supporting children with their social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Delivering structured activities under the guidance of teaching staff
* Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Observing and supporting children’s development across academic, social, and emotional areas
* Gaining practical experience of school routines, policies, and safeguarding procedures
Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people in youth work or related settings
* A patient, adaptable, and caring approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development
* A willingness to learn about the primary school environment and classroom practice
* An understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
* A full driving licence and access to transport (desirable)
All applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and provide appropriate professional references.
