We are currently recruiting for a Group Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team. Main Responsibilities The Group Financial Accountant is responsible for accurate financial reporting, strong financial governance, and statutory compliance across multiple legal entities. The role manages two management accounts teams across two sites and has ownership of the Group's P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting, as well as oversight of tax compliance and key external financial relationships Manage and develop two management accounts teams, ensuring high standards of delivery, consistency, and control Oversee workload planning, performance management, and development across both locations Own the accuracy and integrity of the Group P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting. Oversee timely preparation and review of monthly management accounts across multiple companies Ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations and cashflow forecasting processes Review and challenge financial results, trends, and variances Own and maintain the Group's financial governance framework across multiple legal entities Ensure effective financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and operating consistently Maintain audit readiness across the Group and respond to internal and external audit findings Prepare and review group consolidated financial statements Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and accounting standards across the Group. Lead the preparation of statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiary entities Oversee tax compliance including corporation tax, VAT, and other relevant filings, working with external advisers where appropriate Act as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the audit process across all entities Manage relationships with banks, investors, lenders, and other external Support covenant reporting, funding requirements, and information requests Provide accurate and timely financial information to senior management and external parties Provide technical accounting guidance on complex areas including acquisitions, goodwill and intangible assets, leases, and financial instruments Prepare accounting papers for significant transactions and accounting judgements Support group-wide projects such as acquisitions, restructurings, and system implementations Support the Group's budgeting and forecasting processes. What experience and skills are we looking for? 5 years' experience in financial accounting with responsibility for statutory accounts, audits, and financial governance. Strong experience in multi-entity accounting and group reporting. Proven management experience across teams and/or locations. Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow management. Experience overseeing tax compliance and managing external advisers. Strong financial governance and control mindset. Strong technical accounting capability, with proven ability to interpret, apply, and advise on accounting standards in a multi-entity environment. Audit background (Big 4 or mid-tier) is desirable. Exposure to M&A, financing, or investor reporting is desirable. Qualifications Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Personal Skills Confident leader with strong stakeholder management skills. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Technically strong with excellent attention to detail. Commercially aware and solutions focused.
