The Grand Eastbourne is recruiting for a part–time receptionist to start in June, fixed term until September – 24 hours per week.
Working with our Front of House Team, you will excel at providing guests with first-class service, ensuring a smooth check–in/out process, and handling enquiries swiftly and efficiently.
As the first point of contact for guests, you will directly influence their impression and experience at an Elite Hotel. We pride ourselves on our high standards of service, and you will play a key role in maintaining these standards. While specific hotel reception experience is not essential, a strong understanding of excellent service is required. You should have excellent communication and administrative skills, as well as an eye for detail. Flexibility is important due to early or late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greeting guests at the desk, checking them in and out, and escorting guests to their rooms if concierge services are unavailable.
* Receiving payments and operating PDQ machines.
* Checking availability, taking accurate details, and selling rooms at optimal rates; entering reservations into the system.
* Acting as cashier for guests and departments, including foreign currency exchange.
* Being part of a warm, caring, and professional Receptionist Team.
* Promoting the hotel over the telephone and informing guests about available facilities.
* Handling brochure and tariff enquiries and entering reservations outside of office hours.
* Acting as a sales representative, promoting the hotel's image at all times.
