The Opportunity Are you an enthusiastic linguist with the ability to bring the "Joie de Vivre" of the French-speaking world to the heart of South Yorkshire? We are seeking a dynamic and creative French Teacher to join a high-achieving Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department in Sheffield . We are looking for an educator who can make language learning a vibrant, essential part of the school’s academic culture. Core Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery: Planning and facilitating high-quality French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 , with the opportunity to teach A-Level French for qualified candidates. Target Language Immersion: Using a variety of communicative methods—including song, digital media, and interactive dialogue—to maximize students' exposure to the Target Language (TL). GCSE & A-Level Success: Guiding students through the rigours of the AQA or Edexcel specifications, with a focus on building spontaneous speaking skills and high-level translation accuracy. Cultural Enrichment: Integrating the study of Francophone culture from across the globe (France, Canada, West Africa, and the Caribbean) through film, literature, and current affairs. Linguistic Foundations: Strengthening students’ understanding of grammar and syntax—from the perfect tense to the subjunctive—in a way that is logical, accessible, and fun. Pastoral Care: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor, providing a supportive environment and acting as a consistent point of professional contact for a specific group of students. Why This School?
