Job Summary: Matthew James Recruitment are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Administrator to support the efficient operation of our transport and logistics department on behalf of their client. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. Hours: 9am until 6pm Key Responsibilities: Coordinate daily transport operations, including scheduling deliveries and collections. Liaise with drivers, customers, and suppliers to ensure smooth logistics operations. Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, driver hours, and delivery schedules. Assist in route planning and vehicle allocation to optimize efficiency. Monitor and track deliveries, resolving any issues or delays promptly. Prepare and process transport-related documentation (e.g., delivery notes, invoices, manifests). Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company policies. Support the Transport Manager in fleet maintenance scheduling and reporting. Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence. Requirements: Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or administrative role preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and transport management systems (TMS). Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications: NVQ/SVQ in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. Experience with fleet management or logistics software.
