Overview

Neway International are seeking a Social Worker to join our client based with Nottinghamshire County Council.

Location: Meadow House, Littleworth, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG18 2TB

Hours: 37 per week

Start Date: 24 March 2026

Work Pattern: Minimum 2–3 days per week office‑based (hybrid working)


About the Client

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Children and Families directorate supports children, young people, and families through early help, protection, and care services. The SWS (District Child Protection, Court & Permanence) team in Mansfield works with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans, ensuring safety, stability, and positive outcomes. The service operates within a strengths‑based practice framework and is committed to high‑quality, responsive social work.


The Role

The Social Worker will undertake assessments, planning, and intervention work with children, young people, and families/carers. You will work within the Nottinghamshire practice framework, ensuring compliance with legislation, departmental procedures, and Social Work England standards.

The role requires strong partnership working, clear written recording, and the ability to lead outcome‑focused plans. You will participate in team activities, supervision, service development, and maintain continuous professional development. Flexibility is required, including occasional out‑of‑hours work.

This role requires regular office attendance (2–3 days per week) and travel across the local area. A clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential and non‑negotiable.


Key Responsibilities

* Plan and lead inclusive assessments of strengths, resilience, vulnerabilities, developmental needs, and risks.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, departmental policies, and procedures.
* Maintain accurate, timely written records and reports within the electronic recording system.
* Work collaboratively with children, families, and multi‑agency partners to plan and review outcome‑focused plans.
* Model a strengths‑based approach to practice.
* Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and service reviews.
* Engage in regular supervision and contribute to practice development.
* Undertake relevant training and maintain continuous professional development.
* Promote equal opportunities and deliver fair, responsive services.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR, FOI, ICT policies, and health and safety requirements.
* Work flexibly, including out‑of‑hours when required.


Candidate Requirements

* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
* Experience in Child Protection and/or Court work (essential).
* Clean driving licence and access to own vehicle (non‑negotiable).
* Must live local to Mansfield.
* Strong assessment, planning, and recording skills.
* Ability to work within statutory frameworks and departmental procedures.
* Commitment to CPD in line with SWE requirements.
* Ability to work effectively within a hybrid model and attend the office 2–3 days per week.
