An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) position at Albert Ward, suitable for applicants interested in working with individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the occupational therapy service team at Albert Ward. We seek self-motivated and caring individuals capable of facilitating group activities, conducting 1:1 sessions, and assisting qualified occupational therapy staff as needed. The hours will be varied, with flexible working hours during the week and weekends to support a 7-day service alongside the full-time OT, accommodating the needs of service users.
The post holder will assist in developing and delivering treatment and care plans under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist and in collaboration with the ward manager. Active participation in the multidisciplinary team is required.
The role involves working innovatively to support ward operations, offering individual and group activities in partnership with Occupational Therapy staff. Duties include using the Occupational Therapy Process for assessment, planning, and implementing therapeutic activities within an inpatient mental health setting.
The post requires collaborative and flexible working with nursing and support staff to meet the diverse needs of service users and ensure ward functions.
