Fawkes & Reece are seeking an experienced Temporary Logistics Manager to join our team on a major construction project in Edinburgh. The project involves student accommodation and residential works, delivered under RC Frameworks, and requires a proactive, highly organised individual with a strong background in site logistics. This is a temporary role for approximately 4 weeks with the potential to go on longer for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all site logistics operations, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials, plant, and labour.
* Plan and coordinate deliveries in line with programme requirements and site constraints.
* Oversee traffic management plans, hoarding, signage, and site access/egress.
* Liaise closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Maintain high standards of health & safety, ensuring compliance with site and company procedures.
* Manage storage areas, craneage, and distribution of materials across the site.
* Monitor and resolve logistical issues that may impact programme or productivity.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Logistics Manager on construction sites.
* Essential experience in student accommodation and residential projects.
* Strong working knowledge of RC (Reinforced Concrete) Frameworks.
* SMSTS (or SSSTS depending on project requirements).
* Valid CSCS card.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Strong understanding of health & safety and site logistics planning.
