This 3‑month interim Finance Assistant position has be available due to an uing retirement, and the team is keen to bring someone in to ensure a smooth handover. The role will initially be fully office‑based, with the option for some hybrid working once training has beenpleted.
Your new role
As the Finance Assistant, you will report directly to the Management Accountant and support the day‑to‑day running of the finance function. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Processing purchase invoices and managing the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable cycle
2. Raising sales invoices and assisting with credit control as required
3. Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
4. Posting and allocating payments
5. Assisting with bank reconciliations
6. Supporting month‑end tasks and general ledger postings
7. Handling ad‑hoc administrative and finance duties to support the wider team
Experience using financial software is essential. Knowledge of SAGE Line 50 is desirable but not required if you are confident using other accounting systems.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
8. At least 3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
9. Strong numerical accuracy and organisational skills
10. Experience with financial software (SAGE Line 50 desirable)
11. The ability to work independently and effectively within a small team
12. Goodmunication and problem‑solving skills
13. Qualified by experience (QBE) is perfectly acceptable
