Are you ready to demonstrate your technical and commercial expertise in Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers to tackle new challenges?
Join us as a Technical Manager, where you will lead product development and innovation for our Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers portfolio and applications.
You will bring your knowledge of decorative coatings and inks, as well as your product development skills, to guide our customers through the development and approval of the full range of products from Univar Solutions.
You will work closely with our key suppliers, as well as our Sales and Commercial teams, to solve formulation problems and identify opportunities to provide technical support to our customers. With a curiosity and a can-do approach to customer needs, you will work to drive innovations and product approvals that are an asset to Univar Solutions.
You will liaise with our key suppliers to ensure colleagues and customers are kept up to date with new product developments, changes in legislation and other market requirements.
What You'll Do
* Plan and attend meetings with R&D departments of our customers to ensure Univar Solutions products are promoted, evaluated and approved.
* Work closely with marketing, sales and product management teams to promote new products, produce promotional literature and guide formulations, from the concept phase through to customer presentations.
* Develop and present product training for both colleagues and customers.
* Understand the consumer demands and recommend products to meet their requirements.
* Showcase our full product range in customer meetings and at industry trade shows.
* Assist in engaging product demonstrations through live or recorded webinars and training.
* Plan, prioritise and complete tasks while maintaining accurate and complete records. An eye for detail and dedication to technical precision are essential.
* Manage a pipeline of projects and samples that lead to new product purchases.
* Continuously monitor market share by mapping technology, regulatory changes and competitor activity.
What You'll Need
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (technical or Chemistry degree is preferred).
* Proven technical knowledge in the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers (raw chemicals) industry.
* Experience with product development, ideally in the decorative coatings or inks industries.
* Experience servicing customers at multiple levels, both internal and external, and supplier partners.
* Prior experience in tracking consumer demand and innovations within our market sector.
* Excellent computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint as well as CRM platforms such as
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are vital to presenting effectively inside and outside the organisation.
* Ability to travel across the UK and Ireland – up to 50 %
