Age Connects North East Wales has a vacancy for a part time Community Housing Officer working on their Wrexham Older People's Floating Support Service.
The service aims to support older people to remain in their own homes and live independently within their communities.
As a Community Housing Officer, you would provide support and advice to older people living throughout Wrexham County Borough from all walks of life. This could involve supporting people who have multiple and complex needs with housing related issues and where appropriate helping them to access any benefits that they may be entitled too.
Ideally the successful candidate would have experience of giving housing related support to older people and be experienced in welfare benefits.
Part time position (3 days/ 21 hours per week).
Salary £22,990, pro rata per annum. (£13,794 for 3 days)
The role predominantly involves community working across Wrexham County Borough but will include some home working and weekly visits to our office in Flint. Must have full driving licence and car.
This project is funded by the Welsh Government's Housing Support Grant and will consist of a mix of housing related support including practical support and advice to help older people. Issues vary from client to client but could include preventing eviction, hoarding, supporting ex-offenders to re-engage in the community, managing finances, reducing social isolation, increasing self-confidence and well-being and enhancing independent living skills.
