Successful and Expanding Global Shipping Company based near the iconic St Katherine Docks is looking to recruit a dedicated and analytical Finance Analyst/Cost Controller to join their team.
This role is within the Manning & Training Team who help oversee the staffing and operations side of shipping vessels. The purpose of the role is to Support the Senior Manager with the financial control of the department and all related costs.
Some of the duties:
* Scrutinize all related expenses invoiced to the company to ensure unbudgeted expense is explained
* Familiarise with vessel crew pre delivery and operating expense budgets
* Work with Finance department to agree accuracy of invoices and statement of accounts from manning agents in line with contractual and budgeted
* Review and challenge manning agents for any inconsistencies encountered within their monthly invoices
* Assist in the development of crewing budgets. Verify submitted proposals from manning agents and in particular, impact of increased costs arising from amended wage scale.
* Present budgets in a format suitable for shareholder approval and financial analysis
* Review monthly operating expense reports (OPEX) to ensure actual expenditure is in line with budget.
Your skills/experience:
* Previous Finance/Accounting experience
* Strong Excel skills
* Accounting systems experience
* Strong data analytical skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
This is a great opportunity for somebody with some previous finance and analysis experience to move into an exciting and large scale organisation. You will be given initial training and support in the role and the opportunity to learn about the shipping industry.
