Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join out client in South Ayrshire, who are a leader in there industry. Your role will be to maintain and repair industrial machinery in a fast‑paced production environment. You'll work on a wide range of equipment, carrying out planned maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns and ensuring safe, reliable plant performance.
What you'll be doing
* Mechanical maintenance on mills, presses, dryers, conveyors and material‑handling equipment
* Fault finding and carrying out safe, effective repairs
* Working with hydraulics & pneumatics - cylinders, valves, pumps, actuators
* Maintaining rotating equipment - gearboxes, bearings, couplings, fans
* Supporting process equipment including boilers, pumps and thermal systems
* Using CMMS to manage and record maintenance tasks
* Working safely under PTW, LOTO and site safety procedures
What we're looking for
* Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering apprenticeship
* Experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
* Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills
* Experience with hydraulics & pneumatics
* Ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs
* Proactive, safety‑focused mindset
Desirable
* Experience in biomass, wood processing, pellet plants or other industrial environments.
