Job Summary
Technical Sales Support Engineer/Product Support Engineer – Control and Automation. Salary: GBP 30K – 40K negotiable depending on experience, plus benefits.
This is an office‑based internal technical support role covering Control Gear and Switchgear products and solutions. The position requires experience and a solid understanding of Electrical Control and Automation components to provide technical knowledge to the internal sales team and external customers, maintain customer relationships, and promote products and services to maximise sales opportunities.
Location
The role is based in the Huntingdon, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Northampton and Bedford area, and candidates should be able to commute to these offices.
Responsibilities
* Respond to and handle all product technical enquiries for a range of components.
* Identify the full product range and offer alternative solutions where appropriate.
* Advise on product selection and liaise with Field Sales Engineers and other staff to achieve branch objectives and sales performance.
* Engage in other duties as part of a small, dedicated team.
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Desirable: ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
* Technical competence with a range of electrical equipment and practices.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Experience in a similar sales/customer service environment.
* Ability to liaise with Sales Engineers, other branch, and sales staff.
* Experience or background in electrical engineering or electrical distribution is an advantage.
