Hayeswater Family Time Service is Trafford's provision for safe and meaningful family time between children and their families. It provides a safe space for children and young people to spend time with people they care about, maintain healthy relationships, and develop a good sense of identity.
We are currently recruiting for one Family Time Practitioner at Hayeswater Family Time Centre. The role involves supporting Family Sessions between children and their families, delivering services flexibly across various settings, and contributing to overall assessments in collaboration with Social Care Teams.
Requirements include a Full clean Driving License, access to your own vehicle, and Business Insurance, as you will transport children to and from sessions.
Applicants should have at least one year of experience working with children and families in a professional setting, a sound understanding of children's developmental needs and parenting tasks, and hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience). A commitment to working restoratively to support children and families is essential. Good communication skills are required to plan, deliver, and record outcomes of Family Time, both verbally and in case notes, with knowledge of Liquid Logic being advantageous.
Knowledge of attachment theories and insight into issues faced by children in care proceedings and those having supervised Family Sessions are important. Strong assessment and communication skills are necessary to develop effective relationships with families.
Applicants must have up-to-date knowledge of the Children's Act, relevant regulations, policies, and legislation related to Children's Social Care.
Flexibility to work outside core hours and some Saturdays on a rota basis is required, with an unsocial hours allowance of 3% of the basic salary.
This is a permanent contract.
