Interim Chief Financial Officer

Day Rate: £1,000–£1,250 per day (Could pay more for the right individual)
A lower mid-market Private Equity investor is seeking an experienced Interim CFO to support a post-deal software investment based in the Cotswolds region.
The business is a c.£6m ARR software company operating with a simple and highly recurring revenue model centred around a single core product. Following investment, the business requires a hands-on CFO to help strengthen financial visibility, improve forecasting capability, and support the next phase of growth.
This role will work closely with investors and management both pre and post completion, with an immediate focus on cash flow forecasting and building out the FY27 budget. While the current finance operations are functioning effectively, much of the finance activity is outsourced, creating a need for stronger internal forecasting, planning, and commercial finance capability.
The successful candidate will be a pragmatic and operationally focused interim CFO with experience working within PE-backed portfolio businesses, ideally within software or recurring revenue environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner closely with investors and management during the immediate post-deal transition period.
* Build and enhance short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting capabilities.
* Lead development of the FY27 budgeting and planning process.
* Provide greater financial visibility and commercial insight to support decision making.
* Review current outsourced finance processes and identify opportunities to improve reporting and forecasting capabilities.
* Support the business through the transition into a PE-backed operating environment.
* Act as a hands-on finance leader capable of operating strategically while remaining close to day-to-day business performance.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as an Interim CFO within PE-backed businesses.
* Strong understanding of recurring revenue and software business models.
* Hands-on operator with strong forecasting, budgeting, and commercial finance capability.
* Comfortable working within lean and evolving business environments.
* Able to quickly build credibility with both investors and management teams.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Immediately available or available at short notice preferred.
* Willing to be onsite c.3 days per week in the Cotswolds region.
