We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner to support pupils across the school, contribute to high-quality teaching and learning, and play a key role in promoting our inclusive ethos
Key Responsibilities Supporting Teaching & Learning
* Provide effective cover across all year groups, delivering lessons using class teacher planning as directed by SLT.
* Demonstrate informed and efficient approaches to teaching and learning, including supporting pupils with SEND.
* Encourage and facilitate the inclusion of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
* Support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, helping pupils achieve their full potential.
* Use consistent and effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
* Maintain good order and discipline, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment.
* Use ICT effectively to support and extend learning.
* Supervise classes in the absence of a teacher, as directed by SLT.
* Direct and support the work of other adults where relevant.
Planning & Assessment
* Contribute to planning by preparing learning activities and supporting assessment, recording and reporting pupil progress.
* Read and understand lesson plans provided and prepare the classroom for learning.
* Use specialist knowledge and skills to contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging learning experiences.
* Structure activities that motivate and challenge pupils, promoting independence and achievement.
* Support the inclusion of all pupils in learning activities, ensuring equality of opportunity.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in supporting teaching and learning, ideally at HLTA level.
* Confident in covering classes across all primary year groups.
* Skilled at supporting pupils individually, in groups, and across whole classes.
* Able to demonstrate strong behaviour management strategies.
* Passionate about promoting pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
* Flexible, professional, and committed to raising standards for all pupils.
