Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves creating and implementing mechanical designs, ensuring installations are secure and compliant on site.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating with the design team to develop designs aligned with fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requisites.
* Participating in design meetings to ensure all aspects of the project are considered.
* Conducting surveys of existing installations as needed to inform design decisions.
* Generating thermal models for heating/cooling, ventilation load calculations, utilizing industry-specific software.
* Selecting and sizing various equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers, among others.
* Formulating above-ground drainage calculations and system sizing.
* Choosing domestic hot and cold-water equipment and performing necessary calculations.
* Conducting pipe and duct sizing calculations utilizing industry software or spreadsheets.
* Involvement in the sizing and selection of firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not mandatory).
* Creating stage reports, presentations, Designer's Risk Assessment, and Mitigation Reports.
* Developing detailed mechanical layouts and schematics for construction.
* Ensuring timely project delivery.
* Generating comprehensive design and survey reports.
Requirements
* Extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering within the construction industry.
* Mechanical Engineering Degree or an equivalent qualification.
* Proficient knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS & EN Irish, UK standards, or ASHRAE.
* Proficiency in design software like Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS is necessary.
* Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
