We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Data Engineer to join our Digital Technology & Change team in our Solihull office on a hybrid basis. As a valuable team member, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing the nPower Business Solutions (nBS) strategy to enhance the digital customer and colleague experience. Join us in our transition towards a Product led DevOps model and contribute to shaping our operational approach and capabilities as we expand our business. nBS is the E.ON Industrial and Commercial (I&C) area of E.ON and a market leader in the energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving approximately 30,000 customers and around 250,000 meter points, aiming to become the top B2B energy supplier in the UK.
Data Engineer Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Data Team to deliver the data strategy and optimise I&C data management capabilities, focusing on cloud technologies.
* Lead the implementation and performance of a Modern Data Platform, including migrating legacy systems to secure and scalable cloud-based infrastructure.
* Deliver consolidated business data, optimise data, provide analytics, and ensure data quality management across I&C.
* Act as a strong advocate for data within the organisation, coaching and supporting staff to uphold high standards.
* Support end-to-end delivery of change projects by sharing knowledge and expertise within the team.
* Develop new data solutions to meet business requirements and drive project benefits.
* Create and deliver key MI, executive-level reporting, and BDAs, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
* Provide support and maintenance for solutions, meeting performance expectations and SLAs.
* Create and maintain I&C Data Delivery Artefacts and focus on self-learning and personal development in solution development practices.
What We Need From You
* Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate future change requirements and scalability opportunities.
* Understanding of change governance, project delivery methodologies (Waterfall & Agile), and technical documentation interpretation skills.
* Proficient in handling, manipulating, and analyzing complex datasets.
* Expertise in MS Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, GitHub, DevOps, Microsoft Fabric or Synapse, Microsoft Purview.
