Love teaching maths and making it click for students?
We’re working with a supportive secondary school that’s looking for a confident Maths Teacher who knows their stuff and enjoys bringing numbers to life. This is a well-run department with strong leadership, shared resources, and students who respond well to clear routines and high expectations.
Whether you’re an ECT finding your feet or an experienced teacher ready for a fresh setting, this is a role where your teaching will be valued and your workload kept realistic.
What you’ll be doing
1. Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available if that’s your thing)
2. Planning engaging lessons that build confidence, not fear, around maths
3. Using a range of strategies to support different learning needs
4. Marking and assessing in line with school policies, no unnecessary faff
5. Working closely with the Maths department to share ideas and resources
6. Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
What the school offers
7. A settled Maths department with collaborative planning
8. Clear behaviour policies that are actually followed
9. Supportive SLT who back their teachers
10. Well-resourced classrooms and shared schemes of work
11. Opportunities for CPD and career progression
12. A proper staffroom culture, yes, that still matters
What we’re looking for
13. UK QTS (or equivalent)
14. Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
15. Strong classroom presence and clear communication
16. A calm, consistent approach to behaviour
17. Someone who enjoys helping students grow in confidence, not just grades
ECTs are very welcome, mentoring and support are in place.
