Overview
Join to apply for the Oncology Charge Nurse role at NHS Scotland. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Oncology Registered Nurse to join our Nurse-led Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Day Case Unit as a Band 6 Charge Nurse. The SACT team treat 26-30 people per day, working closely with onsite haematologists, NHS Lothian Oncologists and wider members of the Cancer Specialist team.
Applicants are invited to evidence experience of clinical decision making within the SACT field, experience in SACT scheduling, excellent communication skills and organisational abilities that are essential for working autonomously in managing safe delivery of care, in collaboration with multi-professionals within the South East Scotland Cancer network.
The successful post holder will provide effective leadership qualities, supervision of junior staff and support the Senior Charge Nurse in delivering SACT quality standards of care.
Commitment to career development and ability to share learning within the SACT/Oncology specialties are essential. Professional development is supported with opportunity to advance academic study in the specialty and with the expectation to hold or undertake an independent prescribing qualification.
For enquiries about the post, please contact Lynn Shedden, Senior Oncology Charge Nurse for further information.
Successful applicants will be expected to deliver a 10-minute presentation on the role of the Oncology Charge Nurse in a District General Hospital.
