An opportunity has arisen for dynamic and enthusiastic Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join our mixed rotation in Barnsley. Barnsley is an attractive place to live and work situated on the edge of the Peak District, with easy access to the cities of Sheffield and Leeds.
You will work within a multi‑professional team and hold a varied caseload of patients providing therapy input. Rotations are 6 months in duration and offer an exciting opportunity to develop clinical skills and knowledge within a wide variety of clinical areas including:
* Acute Mental Health
* Neighbourhood Rehabilitation Service (including long‑term conditions and D2A)
* Equipment and Adaptations
* Neurology Rehabilitation
* Stroke Rehabilitation
* Memory Team
* Childrens Therapy
* Forensic Mental Health
An essential vehicle for travel, flexibility including evenings, weekends and bank holidays is required.
Key Duties
* Effectively manage a caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, using evidence‑based, patient‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* Work alongside skilled clinicians in all areas, collaborating with the multidisciplinary, multi‑agency team.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and activity data.
* Participate in regular supervision, performance development review and contribute to clinical governance and risk management activities.
* Support pre‑registration Occupational Therapy students through training and supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Current HPC registration (or ability to register within 3 months).
* A current driving licence and access to a car during the working day (reasonable adjustments considered).
* Experience of core OT skills, preferably with hospital placement experience.
* Documented evidence of continued professional development.

* Critical appraisal of evidence and application to practice.
* Independent work and teamwork within a multi‑disciplinary setting.
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Time management and risk assessment skills.
* Understanding of national guidelines and legislation relating to healthcare.
* Basic IT skills (desirable).
Additional Information
Applicants must have current UK professional registration. The post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
All staff are required to undertake Safeguarding training and comply with Trust policies.
