Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting an independent and forward-thinking planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Planner to join their growing team in Reading.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a key role within a dynamic consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.
The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial appraisal through to determination, providing clear, strategic, and commercially focused planning advice to a range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and leading planning applications and appeals
* Preparing planning appraisals and development strategies
* Drafting high-quality Planning Statements and supporting reports
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and stakeholders
* Attending client meetings and site visits
* Supporting junior team members where required
* Contributing to business development initiatives
Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
* MRTPI qualified (or working towards Chartership)
* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
* Experience within a consultancy or local authority setting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Commercial awareness and client-focused mindset
