Exciting opportunity in the lung cancer screening hub team at Wythensea Hospital. The post requires competencies that may be reviewed in light of experience and developments within the service, with any review conducted in conjunction with the post holder.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing advice and work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Provide nurse‑led clinics.
* Provide health promotion and smoking cessation advice.
* Formulate individualized care pathways with the patient and the carer.
* Work with the triage consultant in the hub.
* Request diagnostic tests for patients.
* Advocate for patients through their journey.
* Discuss scan results with patients via telephone.
* Be familiar with lone working policy.
* Be aware of policies and procedures for MFT and community services related to working practices.
Qualifications / Skills
* Experience in specialist nursing within a cancer screening or related field is desirable.
* Ability to provide education and support to patients and families.
* Knowledge of cancer pathways and diagnostic workflows is advantageous.
* Strong communication and collaborative working skills across multidisciplinary teams.
