Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced post-doctoral engineer with significant robotic systems development experience. If you are interested to develop autonomous robotic systems that can self-reconfigure or self-repair to minimise the maintenance effort, you are most welcome to apply. The project will involve test rig development, system integration and software development.
Candidates are expected to have previous experience in designing experimental robotic system rigs in a laboratory setting.
Key Requirements:
The candidate needs to have extensive experience in:
1. deriving experimental designs and protocols;
2. designing and building experimental robotic test rigs with appropriate transducers, signal processing and instrumentation;
3. use biological inspiration to investigate self-reconfiguration, self-healing, self-repair/community repair, and design for SE for autonomous robotic systems.
4. gathering experimental results and presenting data as part of regular reviews;
5. demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. publish high quality journal papers
7. actively contribute to research grant proposal development
