The Opportunity
They now seek a strategic and experienced Head of Bids & Tenders to lead and evolve their tendering process. This is a pivotal role, responsible for shaping high-value, compliant, and compelling bid submissions that reflect both the commercial goals and core values of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end bid process, from strategy and planning to submission and post-bid analysis.
* Manage and develop a dedicated bid team including writers, designers, and coordinators.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment of bids with business objectives.
* Review and edit proposals to ensure accuracy, brand alignment, and client focus.
* Build and implement a best-in-class bid process, learning from each tender to drive continuous improvement.
* Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and client needs to shape winning strategies.
* Act as the main point of contact with procurement teams and clients, confidently leading presentations, negotiations, and competitive dialogue sessions.
* Interpret and respond to complex tender specifications to ensure full compliance and competitive positioning.
* Conduct industry and client research to inform proposal content and approach.
Candidate Profile
* Demonstrable success as a Bid Manager or Head of Bids in FM, soft services, or related sectors.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary bid teams.
* Exceptional project management ability with a structured, detail-oriented approach.
* Commercially astute with the ability to balance cost, compliance, and competitive advantage.
* Skilled in influencing and collaborating across departments and at all stakeholder levels.
* Confident communicator with excellent presentation, negotiation, and writing skills.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation in the bid process.
Pay: Circa £70,000.00 per year, dependent on experience
