Job summary
This is a fellow post (functioning clinically at the level of an experienced specialist registrar in Haematology) within the lymphoma team at NUH including a CAR-T program within a large regional lymphoma service. This clinical fellowship appointment will provide high quality clinical training (inpatient and outpatient setting) in all aspects of lymphoid malignancies including Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy and other novel therapies for patients with lymphoma. The post includes a focus on clinical research, supporting delivery of clinical trials and including protected time for supervised clinical research. Clinical and educational supervision will be provided by the lymphoma Consultants.
Main duties of the job
This post is designed to offer extensive experience and focused development of skills in the clinical management of patients with lymphoid malignancies within a clinical research theme. Broadly, two types of applicants will be considered. Firstly, individuals who have already completed their specialist training (ST) in haematology (either in the UK NHS or in a recognised equivalent training system in another country) who wish to further broaden and strengthen their training prior to applying for a Consultant post specialising in lymphoid malignancies. Secondly, individuals within the second-half of their Haematology specialist training programme (having attained FRCPath part I /- part II), as an approved (by the home Deanery prior to taking up the post) 'out of programme' training period.
