Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Drogheda, County Louth
Duration: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00-17:00 | Friday 8:00-15:00
This is a full-time Mechanical Project Manager role responsible for managing the planning, coordination and delivery of mechanical installations across large-scale data centre projects in the UK and Ireland. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong project leadership to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver mechanical installation projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
* Manage project scope, programme, budgets and resources.
* Provide technical oversight on mechanical systems, equipment selection, and installation quality.
* Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
* Coordinate procurement activities and manage suppliers and subcontractors.
* Monitor contractor performance, site progress, quality, cost and safety.
* Identify risks, manage change, and implement mitigation strategies.
* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, records and commissioning reports.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and project requirements.
Essential Requirements:
* Strong background in mechanical systems, MEP equipment and plant utilities.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical project management, ideally within data centres.
* Proven experience managing subcontractors, supervisors and installation teams.
* Strong commercial awareness and budget control experience.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proficient in project management and CAD tools (e.g. MS Project, AutoCAD, ASTA).
* Willingness to travel (typically 2-3 days per week depending on project demands).
Desirable Experience:
* Offsite or prefabricated MEP systems.
* Heavy mechanical plant or energy centre installations.
* Coordination across mechanical, electrical and BMS disciplines.
* QA processes, snagging, commissioning and handover packages.
