About the Role:
As the Campus Support Operations Manager, you will lead and manage our dedicated team to ensure the delivery of key priorities as first responders to incidents on campus. Your role will influence policy and service development, ensuring seamless department operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Development: Lead, develop, and coach your team, fostering accountability and excellence. Implement performance management processes.
2. Team Management: Promote effective staff management through planning, appraisals, targeted training, and communication.
3. Operational Oversight: Oversee workload, ensuring swift responses to security incidents, fire activations, and first aid situations.
4. Resource Allocation: Ensure your team has necessary resources to meet Service Level Agreements across the University Estate, including Library and Accommodation services. Develop training and induction programs.
5. Project Contribution: Contribute to university-wide projects and lead short-term projects within your service area.
6. Policy Development: Develop and review risk assessments, policies, and procedures, engaging stakeholders effectively.
7. Strategic Planning: Influence future service strategies through resource and succession planning.
8. Reporting & Communication: Draft reports, deliver presentations, and conduct training. Represent the service in meetings and liaise with emergency services.
9. Support & Guidance: Provide expertise and support to the 24/7 support team and assist students with complex issues.
10. Problem Solving: Conduct detailed assessments to identify solutions for complex issues.

Location and Additional Details:
This role is based at our vibrant campus, equipped with the latest facilities. We are a large provider of Higher Education in the South West, with a diverse student and staff body. The position involves working 12-hour night shifts on a 4-on, 4-off pattern, supporting campus events, with a salary of £43,482 for a 37-hour week, including TOIL for additional hours.
