We are currently recruiting for Full time, part time and Bank Support Workers to support an Autistic individual who also has a Severe Intellectual Disability, in Shropshire on a 2:1 basis. The male individual being supported is a vibrant, affectionate young man who lights up every room he walks into. His smile is contagious, his spirit is joyful, and his love for life is infectious. He doesn’t use words to communicate — but if you connect through empathy, humour, and patience, you’ll quickly learn his language. Whether it's a glance, a gesture, or a spontaneous laugh, his way of connecting is something truly special. He is preparing to move into his very first home away from his loving family — a big step filled with opportunity and growth. He’s looking for the right people to help make that transition a success. You’ll be supporting him to: Build confidence in his new space Learn new skills for daily living Take small, meaningful steps into his community Feel safe, heard, and celebrated — every single day He communicates through gestures, body language, vocalisations, and guiding you to what he wants. He may need a little extra time to process and thrives on clear routines and consistent support. When you really get him, you’ll feel it — in the way he looks at you, the laughter you share, and the connection you build. What we are looking for in people: Be playful and warm, while staying consistent and clear Help him explore the world around him, safely and at his pace Be present in the moment and share in his passions Build strong, trusting relationships Teach him new skills through patience, creativity, and fun You won’t be doing this alone. The family are deeply involved and know him best — they’ll be part of your support network, offering insight and guidance. You’ll be working within a team that truly cares, in an environment where he can be fully himself. This is a 2:1 support role, both at home and in the community, ensuring he always has the safety, structure, and connection he needs to thrive.
