Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Payroll - EMEA, you will help manage the effective delivery of Informa payroll services, working with multiple external payroll providers for the EMEA region, which currently covers approximately 35 separate payrolls across more than 12 countries, within a team of five. This role involves reviewing and maintaining payroll controls, compliance, and governance.
Informa prioritizes data security and privacy; the role ensures payroll activities comply with all relevant data privacy laws and policies.
Key Responsibilities
The EMEA Senior Payroll Specialist and Trainer is expected to:
* Support and lead the payroll team alongside the EMEA Deputy Payroll Operations Manager.
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert on Payroll Processes and Systems.
* Identify training needs and provide ongoing training for new starters and existing staff on HR systems and payroll processes.
* Deliver monthly training sessions to enhance team skills and collaboration.
* Maintain up-to-date payroll procedures and ensure processes are well documented.
* Support cross-training and responsibility rotation within the team.
* Coordinate with payroll bureaus to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
* Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to facilitate data submission and resolve payroll issues.
* Perform monthly payroll checks and produce analysis reports for management approval.
* Ensure salary payments and third-party payments are processed accurately and on time.
* Handle month-end payroll reporting, including reconciliation of payroll journals and HMRC payments, and prepare pension and benefit reports.
* Assist in reconciling payroll control accounts and support complex queries.
* Oversee year-end payroll obligations and maintain company car benefit data.
* Continuously review and improve payroll processes.
* Support employees with payroll-related issues and ensure compliance with GDPR.
People Management Responsibilities
While there are no direct management responsibilities, the role involves motivating the team, supporting communication and training, coaching, and participating in recruitment processes.
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
* At least 5 years of payroll experience in a complex organization.
* Experience with EMEA payrolls (desirable).
* Ability to meet strict deadlines with high attention to detail.
* Strong relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, with a positive attitude.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
* Knowledge of payroll regulations, financial controls, and accounting principles.
* Understanding of pension schemes and AE.
* Experience with flex benefits and salary sacrifice arrangements.
* Experience with ADP IHCM is a plus.
