Construction/Energy 5 Bristol Reporting to the General Counsel, an outstanding opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly expanding engineering company, that has recently completed a capital raising to fund further expansion. Joining as the 2nd common law qualified lawyer in a department of 3 lawyers, you will undertake a broad ranging role in a business that operates internationally. Clients include a range of renewables companies, leading energy companies, Governments, Infrastructure Companies and research organizations. Overseas travel to Europe 2-3 times per annum and trips to London to meet with major shareholders will also form a major part of the role. Flexibility and an ability to be adaptable are key attributes to be successful in the role. The role is both office based and home working. Key requirements: Proven experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, with a strong understanding of legal risk, contract terms, and compliance in relation to competitive tendering processes. The ability to provide pragmatic legal support across a broad spectrum of matters, including procurement agreements, corporate transactions, financing arrangements, data protection issues, and dispute resolution. Experience in maintaining and updating legal templates and internal policies to ensure alignment with current legislation and industry best practices across a corporate group structure. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a strong sense of commercial awareness. Capability to collaborate effectively with external legal counsel where specialist advice is required. Prior experience in energy, renewables, infrastructure or projects is highly advantageous along with exposure to any form of construction contract. Currently working either in-house or at a leading law firm, you will be keen to join an expanding company, where you will have board exposure, work directly with senior managers and have the ability take on significant amounts of responsibility. This company will consider candidates with either a construction, projects, energy, project finance or corporate background. An interest in the renewables/energy/infrastructure space is a key requirement.
