Join to apply for the Specialist Physiotherapist - Rotational role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forth Valley Physiotherapy Neuro Rehabilitation Rotation. This rotation offers a unique training and development opportunity for physiotherapists passionate about neuro rehabilitation. It includes START (ESD for Stroke), the Forth Valley Neuro Rehabilitation Team, Specialist Rehabilitation (bed-based rehab within Bellfield Centre in Stirling), and inpatient Acute Stroke Rehabilitation. Currently, the vacancy is with the Stroke Transition and Rehabilitation Team (START), established in 2021 as a community-based MDT treating stroke patients in their home environment. The team supports early discharge from hospital beds, ensuring safe care transition and ongoing patient support.
As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will assess and rehabilitate patients across Forth Valley discharged from acute stroke care for up to 6-8 weeks. You will collaborate closely with inpatient stroke services and community rehabilitation teams. We seek a motivated individual who will help implement AHP ambitions within the progressive stroke pathway. The role requires providing direct patient care, possessing specialist clinical knowledge, and having highly developed clinical decision-making skills. Passion for stroke rehabilitation and improving patients' lives is essential. Experience in service development and quality improvement is also desirable.
The candidate should be able to prioritize fluctuating workloads and be flexible in a busy environment. The service is based in Falkirk Community Hospital and covers the entire Forth Valley area, requiring the ability to travel area-wide and work closely with colleagues at Forth Valley Royal Hospital and the Bellfield Centre.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service area are essential. Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required. More information is available at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
