Assistant Service Manager – South/West Shrewsbury
Full‑time admin hours (37.5 hours).

Role Overview
You will support the Service Manager to lead, manage, and develop staff teams, delivering outstanding, person‑centred support to up to 15 individuals with learning disabilities and autism. You will play a key role in promoting independence, supporting people to achieve their goals and aspirations, and ensuring services remain compliant, safe and of a high quality.
This is a full‑time, off‑rota position; however, some direct support may be required when needed to ensure continuity of care and a willingness to work flexibly to support your staff team.
Responsibilities
* Support the Service Manager to lead, manage, and develop staff teams
* Deliver outstanding person‑centred support to up to 15 individuals with learning disabilities and autism
* Promote independence and support people to achieve their goals and aspirations
* Ensure services remain compliant, safe and of a high quality
* Provide direct support when necessary and work flexibly to support the team
* Coach and supervise staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory, organisational and quality standards
* Plan placements, conduct reviews and documentation with a values‑driven approach to ensure high‑quality support
Qualifications
* Driver with UK manual licence for at least 1 year and own vehicle
* Supervisory or previous managerial experience within Health and Social care
* Strong understanding of Person‑Centred Thinking and Planning
* Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
* Good understanding of compliance and quality control
* Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or working towards it)
* Good IT skills including Eclipse and Care Planner
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
