Management Accountant | Temp Role | Immediate Start
Sheridan Maine Accounting & Finance is partnering with a market‑leading manufacturing business in Christchurch, Dorset to recruit a Temporary Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Analyst to step into a fast‑paced environment and support the finance function across reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial insight and supporting operational decision‑making.
As a Management Accountant, you will support the delivery of high‑quality financial information and provide insight to improve business performance.
Key responsibilities
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
* Producing detailed variance analysis with clear commentary for senior stakeholders
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
* Involvement in cost accounting, including overhead allocation, product costing, and margin analysis
* Monitoring project spend and reporting on actual vs budget performance
* Partnering with operational teams to drive cost control and efficiency improvements
* Supporting financial reporting for senior management and external stakeholders
* Assisting with year‑end audit and preparation of supporting schedules
* Developing financial models and analysis to support business decisions
* Supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Qualifications
* CIMA / ACCA qualified, part‑qualified, or QBE with strong relevant experience
* Proven experience in a management accounting or finance business partnering role
* Previous exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments (highly desirable)
* Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
* Excellent analytical and communication skills
* A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to work to tight deadlines
