We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school and college in Chelmsford, Essex.
About the Role:
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support children and young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will help create a positive and nurturing learning environment, assisting students both inside and outside the classroom to access the curriculum and achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND
Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Support students with communication, sensory, behavioural and physical needs
Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to meet pupils' needs
Encourage independence and build students' confidence and social skills
About You:
Experience of working with children or young adults with SEND is desirable but not essential
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to learn and engage in professional development
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are an advantage but not essential
