Oakes Farm Shop & Café is a family owned farm shop with a 80+ seat café. We're situated in the West Midlands (based in between Solihull and Coventry). We comprise of a shop, butchery, delicatessen, production room and a thriving café.
We are looking for a Café Team Leader to assist our Cafe Manager with the running of our busy Farm Shop Cafe. Opening at 9am and serving through until 4:30pm, our café serves breakfasts, brunches, lunches, afternoon teas and cake, (all made freshly by our chefs and bakers) to our 80-seater café
This role involves being the face of the café in the absence of our café manager, interacting with our customers, building fantastic rapports and providing excellent customer service. We are looking for someone confident, outgoing and friendly to join our already amazing café team and to help push the department to be even better
The position will be five days a week including at least one weekend day.
Hours will be between 8am and 5pm Monday to Saturdays, and 9am-4pm on Sundays, meaning you get to work in a fantastic hospitality environment, but with the evenings off
Duties to include:
* Working alongside the café manager to ensure a smooth day to day running of the café
* Assisting with the training and development of café employees
* Stepping into managerial role when café manager is absent, including, but not limited to: opening and closing the department, dealing with any customer complaints efficiently, motivating and delegating the cafe team, liaising with the kitchen manager throughout the shifts.
* Maintaining a good working relationship with café assistants and other department managers
* Introducing new ideas to the department, including menus and promotional suggestions
* Working with the café manager to meet weekly, monthly and annual targets
* Liaising with suppliers and placing weekly orders when manager is absent
* Taking orders from customers and inputting into the tills
* Daily use of the coffee machine
* Maintaining a clean working environment at all time
* Answering the café phone in a professional manner
* Encouraging excellent customer service at all times through motivating employees and ensuring all customers have the same experience
* Managing stock levels and stock rotation to minimise waste
* Ensuring deliveries are put away promptly
* Dealing with any staff conflict and reporting to cafe manager or HR when applicable
* Ensuring a thorough cross over between shifts
* Enforcing health & safety and food hygiene standards are kept to company standards
