Great opportunity to make your mark in the newly created and influential Food Technical role.
In this role, you’ll have ownership of your product area, working on strategic projects to improve quality and efficiency in the supply chain and drive innovation. This will involve working closely with suppliers, identifying risks and opportunities to increase value. You’ll be the trusted expert for your area, supporting Procurement, NPD, and the wider business.
Day-to-day, you’ll work on solutions to immediate supply or quality issues and longer-term strategic projects to gain a competitive edge and support the responsible sourcing agenda. This requires a strong technical background in food manufacturing, experience managing suppliers, and understanding retailers’ requirements and ways of working.
You’ll be responsible for managing approved suppliers within your product areas, which may include cereals, produce, dairy, or protein—reviewing performance, developing contingencies to mitigate risk, and highlighting new supply partners to drive innovation.
By building relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry bodies, you’ll stay informed of upcoming changes to legislation and retailer requirements, ensuring the business remains ahead of the curve.
You’ll join a highly regarded Food Manufacturing group with multiple sites. This business operates across several product categories, supplying major UK retailers. It’s a great time to join as they invest in future capabilities to transform the business.
To succeed, you’ll need strong project management skills and a proven track record in delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Excellent commercial and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo.
