The Opportunity Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Support Apprentice to join our dynamic team on a two-year fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional environment while earning a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification. What you'll be doing Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will provide essential administrative and operational support across various teams, playing a key role in the smooth running of the Place Shaping Service. Your responsibilities will include: General administrative support, including handling correspondence and managing diaries and joint inboxes. Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and managing meeting logistics. Maintaining and updating accurate records and databases. Assisting with financial processes, such as raising purchase orders, paying invoices and resolving related queries. Supporting the organisation of events and activities. Contributing to projects and tasks as required to support business objectives. Developing strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Applying confidentiality and data protection principles in line with company policies. What we're looking for A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Strong organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic IT knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams). The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, using your initiative where appropriate. A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C or equivalent), including Maths and English. Must be aged 16 or over and not enrolled in another funded apprenticeship or full-time education programme.
