Associate Structural Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior or Associate Structural Engineer with at least 7 years of relevant experience to join the Manchester office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead significant projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the continued growth of our engineering practice.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in structural design across multiple sectors and materials, coupled with proven leadership and client coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage structural engineering projects across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, and institutional developments.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, ensuring technical excellence and project efficiency.
Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver coordinated, high-quality design solutions.
Represent the company at client meetings, design reviews, and site visits as the project design lead.
Contribute to business development through client relationship management and support for marketing initiatives.
Provide mentorship and professional guidance to support the growth and chartership progression of junior staff.
Work towards personal and professional development goals, including potential managerial responsibilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in structural engineering, focusing on building structures.
Strong proficiency in the analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
Demonstrated experience using relevant structural design and analysis software.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team coordination.
Strong leadership qualities with a collaborative and proactive approach.
Experience in business development and maintaining long-term client relationships.
