Job Summary
Bradford Council’s Leisure Service is seeking a Leisure Attendant Receptionist. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all visitors to our swimming pool. We are looking for someone who is passionate about water safety, delivers excellent customer service, and helps maintain a clean, welcoming environment for everyone who uses the facilities.
This role is based at: Eccleshill Pool, Harrogate Road, Bradford, BD10 0QE.

Main Responsibilities
• Provide front-of-house support: welcome customers, handle enquiries, manage bookings, process payments, maintain reception displays, and follow all financial procedures.
• Carry out administrative tasks: manage memberships, update customer records, process forms, handle post, support vending machine issues, and complete manual systems during IT failures.
• Support Bradford Aquatics: manage waiting lists, registers, payments, class movements, certificates, holiday courses, and communicate with swimmers and parents.
• Perform lifeguard duties: supervise pool users, carry out rescues and first aid, maintain cleanliness, set up equipment, patrol facilities, and follow all health and safety procedures.
• Assist operations: support staff training, manage lost property, maintain a tidy reception area, sell/hire equipment, and follow instructions from Duty Officers and Managers.
Essential Skills
• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
• Basic First Aid certification.
• Good numeracy and English skills.
