Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced podiatrist to join our Health in Justice (HiJ) Musculoskeletal (MSK) team on a part‑time basis at HMP Isle of Wight. This high‑security men's prison is set across two sites – Albany and Parkhurst – just outside Newport, Isle of Wight.6 sessions per month totalling 24 hours a month. Salary is between £40,000 and £49,000 pro rata depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our podiatrist, you will:
* Provide outstanding evidence‑based care, advanced assessment and treatment of patients who may have complex and/or chronic presentation. clinical diagnosis and treatment, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Assess and treat a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients’ care following our policies and procedures.
* Inspire excellence in your colleagues by being proactive in the management of foot, ankle and lower extremity conditions and motivate the wider team to identify patients at high risk. You will forge strong working relationships with the Practice Plus Group healthcare team and the wider Health in Justice Service.
* Be responsible for your own caseload and waiting list and be able to work as an autonomous practitioner.

Qualifications
You will have:
* HCPC registration, with proven post‑registration experience of assessing and treating a range of conditions.
* Experience in assessing and treating diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
* You will also be self‑motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Evidence of CPD and work within MSK speciality.
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent IT skills in MS Word, Outlook.
* Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience of electronic notes systems.
