What are we looking for We have an opportunity for a Product Conformity Engineer, supporting ITM’s activities that ensure that all products manufactured by the organisation meet applicable legal, safety, and industry-specific regulatory requirements for global markets. This role is leading the Product Conformity team that is responsible for managing stack and product certifications, maintaining technical documentation, supporting stack and product testing and providing expert guidance to internal teams to ensure compliant product design, manufacture and market entry. In addition, the role will work with the Head of Department to represent the voice of the customer inside ITM; being responsible for final inspection before dispatch of completed ITM electrolyser products, to ensure that as an absolute minimum all products meet customer expectations within a time scale agreed by all ITM stakeholders. Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Certification Resource allocation and prioritisation for stack and product certification activity. Inspection of electrolyser products built by ITM, ensuring they conform to design documentation. Ensuring packaged items received by ITM are built in line with manufacturer’s documentation. Review of product design documentation to enable certification of ITM product designs. Technical Documentation & Product Files Resource allocation and prioritisation for stack and product Technical Construction File creation. Development, maintenance and control of Technical Construction Files (TCFs) and other compliance documentation. Prepare and issue Declarations of Conformity. Ensure BOMs, material declarations and product specifications meet regulatory standards. Provide cover for the Product Conformity Specialists and Product Conformity Technicians in management of documentation for products received from suppliers. Testing & Validation Coordinate internal and external testing for stack and product safety and regulatory compliance. Provide cover for Product Conformity Specialists in hosting certification bodies when inspecting & witnessing the compliance related routine testing of ITM stack and products in the factory and review test reports to ensure regulatory sufficiency. Support the Commissioning Team when hosting certification bodies for inspecting & witnessing the compliance related routine testing of ITM products in the field and ensuring that the reports generated during this testing are accurate and complete. Labelling, Packaging & Market Entry Ensure all stack and product labelling and marking meets regional compliance requirements. Assist Product Conformity Specialists with stack and product certification trackers. Audit & Compliance Assurance Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits related to product compliance. Responsible for the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness to internal stakeholders within the Product Conformity team. Responsible for corrective action plans and ensuring follow-up to completion. Final Inspection Working closely with all Operations functions to ensure all in-process inspection, manufacturing and assembly processes have been followed to ensure that ITM products leave the factory to a standard that will meet the customer’s quality expectations. Work with all internal stakeholders to ensure that the responsible Team(s) / Department(s) meet their obligations under the respective parts of the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) for all products. Identify and escalate manufacturing issues impacting the quality of finished products to Team Leaders, Supervisors, Line Managers, HoDs as necessary and audit resolution processes identified to ensure successful completion by the respective Team(s) and Department(s). Act as the voice of the Customer. Team management Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team to achieve high performance and deliver organisational goals. Set clear expectations, provide regular coaching and deliver constructive feedback to support ongoing development. Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, HSE, Manufacturing teams (Production Planning, Production and Goods In) and Test & Commissioning teams to embed compliance processes throughout the product lifecycle. Responsible for status updates on the preparation of Technical Construction Files and Manufacturer’s Record Books for ITM’s stacks and electrolyser products, and the status of CE marking activity to the Product Compliance Manager & Deputy Product Compliance Manager as applicable for further dissemination. Responsible for the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness to internal stakeholders outside of the Product Conformity team. Support supplier assessments for regulatory compliance.
