Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a cohort of Apprenticeships at Southern Water, where you will be learning on the job how to be a Data Analyst and develop all the skills and knowledge you will need to forge a career within Data.
You will be learning on-the-job, gaining a fully funded Level 4 Data Analysist qualification and getting paid a competitive salary too!
Your apprenticeship will last 18 months, where you will spend 80% of your time working and learning on the job and 20% of your time either in a virtual live classroom or studying to develop your knowledge and skills.
Fully supported by a senior leadership team and manager; you will have an opportunity to learn a variety of data tools including PowerBI, Alteryx and R Studio.

Once Able; responsibilities will include:
7. Building analytical products to enable stakeholders to understand business performance
8. Identify trends anomalies and conduct statistical analysis to answer key questions from lines of business
9. produce insight generating products, ad-hoc analyses and self-service products based on business requirements
10. proactively deliver data products by developing an understanding of Southern Waters business areas to spot opportunities where analytics can drive performance improvements
11. utilising Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to collect, clean and store datasets for analysis
About You
12. Able to interact directly with stakeholders, via email and face to face
13. Strong communication skills
14. Be curious, wanting to find out the Why or the How
15. Organised and able to manage your own workload
16. Ideally some level of PowerBI awareness or knowledge, however this is not essential
17. A good grasp of what data is and how it can be useful to a business
18. Right to work in the UK and lived in the UK or EEA for past 3 consecutive years
19. GCSE Maths Grade c/4 or equivalent
20. GCSE English Grade C/4 or equivalent
21. 96 UCAS points from level 3 qualifications e.g. A Levels
22. Not already enrolled on a government funded training course
We are working alongside our apprenticeship provider on the recruitment of these positions, so you will have an initial discussion with them to assess suitability before being considered for an interview with the hiring manager.
Package
This role will be full time, Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between either our Durrington or Falmer office and home; some travel to the other site will be required from time to time.
We are offering a salary of £22,788 per annum raising in 6 month increments (following successful competition of the course stages) to £31,400
