Software Engineer – National Security
Location: Manchester – hybrid and flexible working arrangements available. Employment type: Full‑time.
About the Role
The National Security business in Manchester is growing, offering opportunities to work with a range of National Security clients and deliver solutions with real impact. You’ll be part of a team that delivers for clients and also gives back through community engagement and outreach activities to build tech and cyber skills in the region.
What You Could Be Doing For Us
* Design, code, test, correct, and document simple programs and assist with implementation of software that forms part of a properly engineered information or communications system.
* Provide accurate estimates of development effort needed to design, code and test software from given specifications.
* Logically analyse code defects and produce timely code fixes.
What Background Are We Looking For?
* A solid understanding of any of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, C++.
* The desire to solve complex technical problems and help our customers achieve their goals.
* As a learner who is eager to grow new skills and better yourself where possible.
* Knowledge of cloud engineering such as AWS, Docker, microservices is desirable but not essential.
* The ability to work as part of a team, share knowledge and be involved with our Agile ways of working.

Security Clearance
