Our support ranges from mission critical Logistics Information Services, next generation in-flight digital tools, to aircraft and operational modelling and simulation methodology.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Test Lead to join our dynamic team in Digital Services and Analytics (DS&A) and drive our automation testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automation testing using Selenium, proficient programming skills in Java, and experience with cloud technologies and DevOps practices. This role requires leadership capabilities to guide a team of testers and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.

This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.

Primary Responsibilities

As part of your role, your duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Leading the design, development, and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project requirements and design specifications
2. Developing and implementing test automation strategies and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria.
4. Mentoring and training team members on automation testing best practices, tools, and methodologies.
5. Integrating automated testing into CI / CD pipelines using DevOps tools and practices.
6. Monitoring and reporting on testing progress, defect metrics, and overall quality assurance status.
7. Continuously evaluating and improving testing processes, tools, and methodologies to align with industry best practices.
8. Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in automation testing, cloud computing, and DevOps.
9. Please note that the above list is not exhaustive and you’ll be required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Preferred Experience

10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
11. Experience in software testing, with a focus on automation testing.
12. Strong expertise in Selenium and Java programming.
13. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
14. Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
15. Solid understanding of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., TestNG, JUnit).
16. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Experience

18. Proficiency in Test Automation tools like Selenium Webdriver, SmartBear Test complete, GitLab, IntelliJ, and TestNG Framework.
19. Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
20. Knowledge of API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
21. Familiarity with Test Management tools like Microfocus ALM.
22. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
