DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP
You will work towards a full-time job while studying for a degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University on our BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions. The 3-year course includes an initial 12-week on-campus bootcamp at Sheffield Hallam University, followed by part-time blended learning combining on-campus days and online study, while you perform your full-time role. You will learn industry-standard technologies and modules such as programming fundamentals, systems analysis and design, database administration, and software engineering. The degree culminates in a final project in collaboration with Capgemini's business.

As an Apprentice Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a Scrum team, collaborating with senior and junior engineers who share your enthusiasm for Agile practices, high-quality software, and innovative problem-solving. Your responsibilities include:
* Designing, developing, and delivering software solutions meeting client needs.
* Applying Agile methodologies to improve productivity, communication, and project outcomes.
* Learning from senior engineers and mentoring junior team members to promote knowledge sharing.
* Spending time pursuing technical certifications and professional development to advance your career.
* Engaging in diverse projects that challenge your skills and expand your experience.
YOUR PROFILE
To be eligible, you need:
* 7 GCSEs including Maths and English (grades 4-9).
* Strong knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C++.
* Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Plus one of the following:
* 3 A*-C grades at A-level (excluding AS levels).
* Completed Advanced Apprenticeship.
* BTEC (minimum of MMM).
This role is based in Telford, West Midlands. You should be within a commutable distance, typically working in the office 3 days a week. This specific position is not available elsewhere in the UK, but other roles on our website offer more location flexibility.
YOUR SECURITY CLEARANCE
Successfully securing this role requires obtaining Security Check (SC) clearance, which involves criteria such as continuous UK residence for the past 5 years and other requirements. During recruitment, you will be asked about your eligibility, including residence, nationality, and citizenship, as some roles are restricted to UK nationals.
